What are we looking for?

We are looking comprehensively at Yellig Park and seeking public input on what items need attention and what the priorities should be. We are taking stock of the existing structures, walks, fields, courts, and parking to determine their condition and code compliance. We are looking for ways to make improvements to existing facilities, places to add new facilities where the need exists, opportunities to make and improve walking connections, and possibly additional long-term land acquisition.

Yellig Park Today

Yellig Park currently has numerous sports fields including four multi-use fields (soccer/football) and three baseball diamonds. The park also has one basketball court and one sand volleyball court available. These fields provide space for North Spencer Little League, North Spencer Softball, North Spencer Soccer Association, and Minutemen Football for their youth sports league.

Two shelter houses are available for visitors to rent, and a playground offers areas for older kids to play as well as an area specific to younger children.

Visitors can walk the Ray Yellig Memorial Trail, a paved accessible path in park which loops around the north and south sides of the park. The trails continue along Ashburn Road to the shops and other attractions located in Santa Claus.
