The Town of Pittsboro adopted its comprehensive plan, produced in partnership with Rundell Ernstberger Associates, on September 16, 2014. The plan was updated on May 19, 2020, and on October 19, 2021. Pending public engagement, the plan is in the process of being updated for 2025. Changes to the plan will include demographic data updates, reassessment of goals and priorities, and updated recommendations to the Town.

The final Action phase focuses on developing implementation strategies and drafting the Comprehensive Plan. The plan will be reviewed by the community and stakeholders, refined based on feedback, and prepared for adoption.
