Thrall's Opera House

Welcome to the Public Workshop Page

Here, you can find activities from the recent Public Workshops held on September 30 and October 3, 2024. During these Workshops, community members participated in visioning exercises and discussions to help shape the future of New Harmony. Now, we offer an online opportunity to complete the same exercises and share your input.

The exercises include:

  • Demographic Survey: Please fill out a demographic survey if you complete any of the exercises below. The survey results will help inform the public outreach strategy to ensure all residents are represented in the planning process.
  • Review of the Vision and Guiding Planning Principles: Provide feedback on the draft vision statement and planning principles created during the Public Workshops that will guide future decisions for the town.
  • Housing Preferences Exercise: Identify your preferred housing types for future households in New Harmony.
  • SCOB Analysis: Evaluate the Strengths, Challenges, Opportunities, and Barriers to Success facing the town.

We encourage all residents to participate and submit their feedback by Friday, October 18, 2024, at 5 p.m. Your input is essential in shaping the Comprehensive Plan and ensuring that New Harmony's future reflects the needs and aspirations of the entire community.

Vision and Principles

After gathering public input from the Focus Groups and Public Workshop held on October 3, 2024, a draft community vision and a set of guiding principles were developed to help shape New Harmony’s future.

Now, we invite you to review and provide feedback on these proposed ideas. Your input helps ensure that the community vision accurately reflects New Harmony's priorities for the next 20 years.

Please read through the proposed vision and principles, then let us know if you feel this captures the right direction for our town. You can indicate whether you agree, agree with some wording changes, or disagree, and you’ll have the opportunity to leave comments and suggest improvements.
